"Psychos Make It to the Top": A Musical Mixture by Max Korzh
The album is expansive, 1 hour and 21 minutes of hard-hitting, signature rap on a variety of topics that touch Max. It covers childhood in the backyard, Afghanistan, streets without streetlights, and lost trust. As always, it's not particularly eloquent, but it's interesting, as the album incorporates folk motifs, chanson notes, and a hard guitar beat.
The album's sheer length justifies the fact that Korzh's previous album was released back in 2017. Even though it was called "The Kid Has Grown Up," the tracks and style of the new album make it clear that the kid has matured even more and sees more of the mundane in life than before.
Critics found plenty to criticize: boyish chants like "Bro, get on the beat," clunky rhymes, choppy beats, and abrupt transitions from one style to another. In short, there were plenty of criticisms of the rapper's work, but it also has its undeniable strengths. Max still maintains the image of a street kid who, despite changing circumstances, remains familiar, simple, and close. Another plus is that he's still interesting to listen to.
This year, 2022, he delighted fans with the release of three new singles: "Take Care of Her," "This Is Our Home," and "My Way." As always, the music is honest, engaging, and poignant. We look forward to more new releases from Max!
